Mentoring

"See what God has in store for you. Do not rely on your own talents, skills, personality, or strength. All God is asking of you is to give away your love and your time."
- Former EA Mentor
The purpose of the Eastside Academy Mentoring Program is to build healthy relationships that encourage trust, offer healing, and mirror the image of God. For many students these are the first healthy adult relationships they’ve experienced. We’ve found that this relational consistency has led to increased sobriety, academic success, and attendance. Mentors often become involved in career and college planning; walking alongside their mentee as they learn to navigate the world beyond Eastside Academy. Many of these relationships continue to thrive years after the student has left EA!

Our mentors are given the training and tools they need to care for this vulnerable population of youth. Relationships begin with lunch once a week on the school campus and a handful of planned after-work activities such as bowling, skating, movie nights, etc. From there, the relationships grow.
