Elyse graduated from University of Southern California and began her career in public relations. She worked for Rockwell International in their newly developed North American Space Operations (NASO) program before transferring to their Rocketdyne facility to manage their Customer and Community Relations. It was here that her love for non-profit work was realized, working with local organizations to care for the community. Her time at Rockwell enabled her to experience all aspects of the Space Shuttle program, hosting dignitaries for Shuttle launches and landings, and advocating for space exploration. Elyse and her family moved to Seattle to raise their children, and during this time, volunteered extensively, raising funds to provide resources to public schools. She began working for Eastside Academy in 2009, as Director of Development, after what she can only describe as a clear call from God. She also holds a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from University of Washington. Elyse lives with her husband, Allen, of nearly 40 years. Their children are grown and reside in Portland.
